Picture from Alfred Eisenstaedt

During my renovation and inspiration research I found this picture from Alfred Eisenstaedt and I ordered it and got it today! I don't know why this picture has made such a great impression on me, but I like it. This is a perfect picture for the bedroom, as this room is mostly filled with things from my old apartment and maybe a little bit too feminine for Tim.

Now it's only a frame missing and then I'll show you :)

Wedding invitations part 1

The first thing I did today, when I came home was to write the invitations to our wedding for our relatives. I thought it was a nice idea to hand-write them which was quite a challenge after such a long working day. :) As you can see on the pictures I found some simple invitations that are not too overloaded, I like the simple golden "Hochzeit". Then I used a golden pen to draw 2 rings on each invitation and on each enveloppe.

So this is the first step to marriage... I couldn't stop thinking about the way I thought a marriage would be when I was a child. At that age I thought that I would already be married at the age of 20 and that I would have 2 children at the age that I have now. But I'm happy to marry the man I love, no matter how old I am. :)

The first sign for summer...

The first sign for summer for me is when I buy the hydrangeas for my window in the kitchen. I just love this flower and it will stay with me during the entire summer and even until autumn. My grandma always had white geraniums in her window in the kitchen during summer which matched perfectly to the curtains she had hand-sewn and that had a fresh scent of the washing agent she used. I normally choose blue or white hydrangeas but this year I decide to take pink ones:

Summer has entered my apartment :)

Kram and have a lovely evening!

Mousse au chocolat

We're going to celebrate my brother's birthday tomorrow and I promised to bring a dessert and as my colleague brought me some dessert chocolate from France I decided to make a mousse au chocolat because this is one of my favourite desserts. I've only eaten it in restaurants so far, so this is my first mousse au chocolate:

I chose the praliné chocolate (200 grams) for this dessert:

I started by melting the chocolate in a double boiler:

After the chocolate was melted, it had to cool down for 1 minute and I added 30 grams of butter which I've cut in small cubes and stirred . Then I whipped 200 ml cream and added 1/3 of the whipped cream  and folded it into the chocolate butter mix:

And finally the rest of the whipped cream:

I'll have to leave it in the fridge until tomorrow and then we can eat it together with some strawberries:

It was really easy to make this dessert and I tasted a little bit ;), it's really delicious.

Cozy bedrooms

You know I'm always looking for inspiration for our home and for me a cozy bedroom is one of the most important things in a home. It should be a place to relax and sleep, to have breakfast in striped pajamas, read books, listen to music...

A long time ago I already made screenshots from these bedrooms and bed linens to get some inspiration:

A different way of breakfast in bed - with a fruit tray

I'm looking forward to continuing to redecorate and paint our apartment... I'll start tomorrow and of course I'll show you. :)

Dessert Chocolate

My colleague just came back from her holidays in Southern France and she knows that I like mousse au chocolate very much so she bought these 2 French chocolates for me which are special chocolates for desserts. I haven't tried to prepare mousse au chocolate yet, but I'm curious to try it.

My brother will celebrate his birthday this weekend, so I will try it and I'll show you the result. I can't decide whether I should take the white chocolate or the praliné...

Have a good evening!

First Biergarten Day in Munich

Today was my first Biergarten (beer garden) Day in Munich for this year, because it was very warm. I love this part of the year when it's still sun when you leave work and you go to a Biergarten together with your friends or colleagues to drink a beer or in my case a "Radler" (Which is a mix of beer and lemonade) and just enjoy the rest of the day.

Photo: hofbraeukeller
One of my favourite Biergarten here in Munich is the "Hofbräukeller" beer garden which is on "Wiener Platz"but today we just went to a beer garden close to work. I'm so looking forward to going there with Tim this weekend, hope the weather won't change.

Noa Noa Collection 2013

Noa Noa is one of my favorite brands, the outfits are simple but so beautiful. They mostly use pastel colours and are from Denmark. When I'm in Denmark I always go to the Noa Noa outlet in Copenhagen, because they also sell the items from home collection, which are very hard to get here in Munich. This is the new Noa Noa collection for 2013:

I especially like the apricot dress and the cap sleeve shirt. I think about buying one of them this summer :)

Green vs grey

One of the things that I recognized that is completely different to Munich is the intensive green color that you can find everywhere in Bali because of the many rice fields. It was quite strange when we came back, Munich suddenly occurred very grey to me. Of course it's still winter here and the leaves and grass is just beginning to grow again, but even during the hottest summer, you will never see these colors that you have in tropical regions:

I'm currently still having a jet lag, I wake up at 5 am every morning and I almost fall asleep during work at 5 pm and I find it very hard to concentrate, so I 'm sorry if my English is bad right now. :)

Nyborg - Wedding Invitation

I just got my first wedding invitation for this year from my best friend in Copenhagen, she will have her wedding in Nyborg in August. She will celebrate it in the castle of Holckenhavn. I have just found some pictures on the internet, which I would like to show you:

Photo:holckenhavn

It looks really nice, doesn't it? And the best thing about it is that this means I will also be 2 times in Scandinavia this summer... I'm so looking forward to it! I would like to book the flights immediately, but I'll have to wait until tomorrow as I will have to talk to my boss first.

Back home...

What a long journey back... It took us 21 hours to get back home again. When we came out of the plane it had 10°C and it rained. It's so strange to wear winter clothes again after 3 weeks of flip flops, bikini and t-shirts. But it also feels good to be at home and to have an internet connection that works :).
As it wasn't possible the last few days here are some pictures which I already wanted to show you the last few days.

That's a typical picture for Bali, when you come to the beaches in the Cangu area:

and of course the surfers:

..and some pictures from our hotel in Seminyak, where we spent the last days in Bali:

We really had a wonderful time in Bali and I am very relaxed. Looking forward to blogging again :)

Chill Bali

Tim and I just came back from a wonderful massage. The Spa is called Chill, it's in Legian/Seminyak. The masseur starts with washing your feet, which felt a little bit strange at first but was very nice actually, they use a mint/lemon foot washing lotion which smells very good.

Photo: Chill
After that they brought us to the massage room which is very quiet and a little bit chilly but has a cozy light. We got a blanket and an ipod with chill-out music. The massage was fantastic and I feel so good right now. I wish I had a "Chill" in Munich :)

Popeye the Sailor Man

We went to Balian yesterday and unfortunately they didn't have internet at the hotel or elsewhere, so I couldn't blog. We had a nice day in the sun and we ate a delicious red snapper with rice, which was grilled over coconut shells. It all feels so healthy here, with the sun and all the good food they have like fresh fish and vegetables. I wish they had a cooking class, where you could learn how to prepare all these nice dishes...

On our way back to Seminyak, where we are right now, we got into a rain shower so everything was wet within a few minutes and we ran into the Drifter Surf shop to escape from the rain. I saw this painting of Popeye and I haven't seen anything from Popeye since I was a child. I loved this tv series and it was so nice to see him:

I might watch an episode today ;), as the internet works fine here.

Naughty Nuri's Warung

We've been at Naughty Nuri's Warung for dinner today. The speciality is pork ribs, so the entire warung has pictures of pigs:

You also see Miss Piggy lying on top of the bar:

The BBQ place:

And the delicious Pork ribs, that are very tender and have a special marinade:

It was a very nice evening and we've just returned to our hotel. We are driving around very much everyday as Tim is checking many surf spots for the waves (and surfing) so I'm often tired in the evening but happy to be on vacation and I'm finally really relaxing here. Still some more days at least...

Have a good day!

Single Fin Cafe in Uluwatu

Some update from our time in Uluwatu, as we didn't have internet during this time. We've been in the Single Fin café in Uluwatu, it 's a colourful café with colorful furniture:

You can enjoy a fantastic view from up there down to the sea while enjoying a fresh pineapple juice.

When we were there there was a little bit of wind blowing which was very welcomed as it was a hot day and the way down to the beach is quite a workout...

Unfortunately the weather was a little bit cloudy when we were there but I think you can still see how nice it is to sit in this café and just enjoy the sea. I often miss the sea in Munich and having it here in Bali everyday is just great.

Have a good day !

Our new hotel... Astana Batubelig

We like to stay at different places, so we moved from Seminyak to Batubelig. We decided to stay in a very good hotel for the next 3 nights, the Astana Batubelig. I think this is the most luxurious hotel I've ever been in my entire life. It's spacious and I especially like the grey and brown colour:

A bathroom with a shower and a bath tub:

And the best of all: our own pool! You can enter it from any room and of course from the little garden:

We normally don't choose these hotels as they are very expensive, but in Bali you can afford it...

Looking forward to the next 3 days :)
