Molos Greek restaurant Munich

Finally a sunny day in Munich after a couple of days of rain. That's why Tim and I decided to go out for dinner today. Greek food during summer is simply the best, Gyros with Tzaziki and Pita... yummy! A Greek restaurant that I can recommend in Munich is Molos. It is a little bit posh but the food is very good and you can sit outside and as soon as it gets dark they have candles which is quite romantic and perfect for me as the candle person :)

Dallmayr Munich

I am on a lot of customer visits currently and we always bring them a little gift and my favorite place to go for these gifts is Dallmayr. An also if you are visiting Munich it is one of the must sees and must buys :) . It is a deli food store that was founded 1700 and has its own branded high quality food and used to be one of the purveyors to the court of the Bavarian king back in 1900. It is very close to Marienplatz in Dienerstrasse.

Picture: Dallmayr

The furniture is still very old fashioned and I really like that. Even though the food is expensive, I like the atmosphere and the many different things you can buy and to be sure to buy good quality.

You can also see in the logo that they are using that they were one of the purveyors to the court:

If you are in Munich it really is a nice place to go ( but please not on a saturday as it will be crowded!)

Have a lovely day!

Flickorna Lundgren during winter

Today I went by the book shop and they had the book "the Children of Noisy Village are celebrating Christmas" in their shopwindow. I suddenly missed Sweden and the way everything is decorated in Sweden during Christmas time and the red wooden houses. Like my favourite coffee house in Sweden, Flickorna Lundgren which you see on this picture during winter:

If there was a way I would go there now and have one of their great cakes and cookies and coffee served in a copper coffeepot feeling like one of the 6 Children of Noisy Village! :)

Ruby's Autodiner

For me a typical American restaurant is a diner, that is what you see in many movies and of course I also wanted to have food in a diner. :) We went to Ruby's Autodiner and what I especially liked, was the 50s style of the entire restaurant:

I went for a Cheeseburger, French Fries and Cherry Coke, great combination but I think I will have to run some extra rounds when I'm back in Germany... :)

Rut på Skäret Restaurant

One of my favorite restaurants in Sweden is Rut på Skäret. It's such a cozy place and of course we went there this time too. The way to the restaurant is very nice and you can see part of the hydrangeas that are growing on each side and in the garden of the restaurant. Doesn't it look like coming to someone from Noisy Village? Normally we sit outside but this time it was too cold, for me it feels like autumn as it's quite cool here in Sweden and it rains a lot.

What I also like about it is the clean and simple design: a white tablecloth, salt and pepper, a hydrangea and a candle in typically Swedish candleholder:

And also a picture from the inside of the restaurant:

And the food is delicious here, so promise me to try it if you should be in Skåne!

Have a good evening!

Old friends and Sushi

I've met one of my oldest friends today after at least 8 years. We've been 8 friends at high school, 4 couples and none of us is still a couple. We used to be together everyday after school, then we all finished high school and all went different ways. The only one left from that time in my life is my best friend who lives in Copenhagen. It's strange to see someone after all this time, someone you knew very well a long time ago, but you can't tell who he is nowadays. He has gotten quite old ( I guess he'd say the same thing about me :)) and he's been working for a consulting company the last 6 years, so I think that's why. It was a little bit strange in the beginning I didn't know where to start to tell him what has happened in the last 8 years. Such a long time and so much has happened... but after a while it felt somehow familiar. Why do we loose good friends on our way through life? He was really the one I could talk to when I was sad and he would always help me. He was the one who convinced me to eat sushi in high school so therefore we went to a sushi place today.

I wonder how it will be in another 8 years, what will I be able to tell then?

Al Bancut Restaurant Lignano

There was one restaurant in Lignano, which I want to share with you, it's called "Al Bancut". Everything was very delicious. They serve homemade bread and you can see how they bake it in the oven close to the fire. I had tagliatelle with fresh aspargus as starter and a filet steak which was so tender. As dessert I chose a hot chocolate cake... I can tell you I ate it very slowly to really enjoy every moment. My Dad also ordered an espresso and they served homemade vanilla cookies, which the chaf had just got out of the oven and they were still lukewarm. The restaurant itself was very cozy, from the place where we sat you could see the fire burning:

Lazy afternoon in Meja Bali

Tim goes surfing everyday in the morning and if possible also in the evening. While Tim is in the water, I spend the time reading, walking on the beach and taking pictures. This is what I needed. Time for myself and time for us. This afternoon we've been together in a very cozy café in Seminyak, which is called Meja:

It's like sitting in a living room with little lights everywhere (and you know I really like that :)).

Dinner at Monsieur Hu Munich

We went to a restaurant named Monsieur Hu in Munich's Dreimühlenviertel. It's a Pan-Asian restaurant with a very stylish interior and a very cozy atmosphere. It was the first time that I tried this restaurant and I can really recommend it.

I had a curry with beef and vegetables and it was very delicious, I think we have found a new favorite :)

Have a good rest of the weekend,

Transit Restaurant Berlin

I've talked so much about the Transit Restaurant in Berlin, that I want to show you some pictures from Friday's evening. It's different to anything I know from Munich, you can order small bowls with different dishes at 3 euro each and I've tried a lot of them and everything tastes really delicious.

These are the bowls with the different dishes:

No, it's not a mochito :), it's a lemon-ginger-honey tea as it was so cold in Berlin that I needed something hot to drink...

Kaffeemitte in Berlin

Today we just spent the entire day in Berlin city center and started it with a very good breakfast in Kaffeemitte, with some coffee, fruit salad, scrambled eggs and fresh orange juice. I LOVE breakfast, for me that's the best part of the day. The café is situated in Berlin Mitte in the Eastern part of Berlin and perfect for starting a shopping/sightseeing tour in this area:

Aroma bar in Munich

One of my favourite places in Munich for breakfast is Aroma Bar in Pestalozzistr. 24 in a quarter that is called "Glockenbachviertel" (the alternative & creative part of the city). It's a café and a grocery store, very cosy and delicious food, but can be very crowded!

Photo: speisekarte.de
They offer an extensive breakfast menu: from muesli to omelette, yoghurt, pretzels and a huge choice of hot drinks, and everything is homemade. You might find some of the tables and chairs strange because some of them very tiny, but it's the mix that makes this place special compared to other places. In the shelves that surround the tables you will find a big choice of unusual gift ides, delicatessen and postcards.

This place is well known by Munich's inhabitants and the terrace seats outside are the most popular ones. So once you have found a seat don't leave it ;).

The opening hours are :

Mon – Fri 07:00 – 20:00, Sat – Sun 09:00 – 20:00
