Nyborg Wedding

I'm finally in Sweden after the wedding in Nyborg, Denmark. Here are some pictures where I've been the last days. I'm really enjoying Scandinavian summer and the calm days. The first pictures have been taken in the Best Western Hotel in Nyborg:

And of course the married couple:

It was a long weekend and I'll go to bed now and write more tomorrow!

Have a good day!

Rings and rose petals Update

I promised to shown you some pics from the presents I got from the jeweler, which I've posted here. As the last days with all the wedding preparations and the wedding itself took all of my time, I finally time to post these pictures so that you can see them. On this picture you see the champagne glasses together with the rose petal bath confetti and the ornaments for the Christmas tree:

I know it's somehow strange to think about Christmas during summer, but it was such a nice idea of this lady to give us 2 ornaments for our first Christmas as a married couple:

Have a great day!

My wedding...

What a wonderful day! Already the evening before my wedding was so wonderful: I stayed at my parents home together with my sister my parents and my maid of honor and my parents had prepared a lot of nice food and we sat together laughing at chatting until late night sharing old memories. I'm so thankful for what the people that I love have done for me the last few days: my maid of honor has been there for me for weeks helping me with everything, my parents have decorated the entire house for my guests and I must say it really was one of the best days in my life.

Here you see Tim and me, I have 2 geranium flowers in my hair from the geranium which used to be in my Swedish grandmother's kitchen and I'm wearing the dress my mother-in-law has tailored for me:

My bridal bouquet in the middle of the table... and no, I didn't throw it :)

Here you see a part of the table decoration:

And how nice it was in the evening when it started to get dark :

I'm so happy about this day and to start a new part of my life as Tim's wife.

Wedding hairstyle

I'm going to the hairdresser next Thursday to try some hairstyles for my wedding. It's really very difficult, I call tell you! On the one hand side I would like to have something like this with flowers and braided hair:
picture: weddbook

On the other hand side I like the way Kate moss has her hair and maybe just braid a small part?

picture: freundin
I like this hairstyle too, but it might be too classical together with my wedding dress:

picture: Brigitte
And of course a surfer/hippie style which would be a great contrast to my wedding dress. :)

picture: frisurundfigur
I'll show my hairdresser, maybe she can create a classical surfer-hippie elf style? :)

Rings and rose petals

We've finally got our wedding rings! I was a little bit nervous when I picked them up today and it felt very good at the same time. It was a very emotional moment when I saw my ring in that red velvet box with the engraved sentence that Tim and I have chosen in Swedish "Du och jag är vi för alltid"(You and I are we forever) . The shop assistant was very nice, she gave us the rings and 2 champagne glasses, 2 ornaments that are for the Christmas tree and should bring luck, and some rose petals that you can use for taking a bath:

It's like waiting for Santa Clause, it's really only a few more days. until the great day..

Have a good evening!

Do sit under the apple tree...

We've been at the restaurant in our lunch break to discuss the menu and we've finally decided it! We will have a garden sorrel soup as starter, a rib- eye steak with redwine sauce and potatoes as main dish and a mousse au chocolate which they will serve from a copper bowl. Everytime I see the apple trees I feel that this is the right place to celebrate my wedding, I took a snapshot with my camera today so that you can see it:

Now imagine white tablecloth and napkins, paper lanterns in the trees... and of course my message in a bottle.

Wedding name tents

I've been inspired by Martha Stewart's tips for wedding name tents or in my case a name hang tag:

I've bought some small bottles and added a little card that is foldable, so that our guests can write down their wishes for us and put them into the bottle, together with a pencil and the name tag, so that it can serve like that as well. And it looks nice, doesn't it?

For stamping all the names I will need the help of my maid of honour and my sister, I bought some rubber stamps and an ink pad:

Only 3 weeks left...

Message in a bottle...

I've had some internet problems due to the flood that has been in a lot of places here in  Germany, so I couldn't write anything and the internet connection was on and off. But I think they fixed this problem and I'm back :)

As my weeding is coming closer and closer, I start to think about the various things I still need to do and one of these things are the place cards, I found this "Message in a bottle" place card very nice if it wasn't to much waste in the Isar river, it would be great to just throw it into the water after the wedding with some nice words for the one to find it ad as a nice memory that might end up somewhere in the world...

Tik tak....

I really can't believe it. Time goes by so quickly, it's only a few weeks left until my wedding. And there is still a lot to be done. We haven't decided most of the things yet, like our wedding rings for example. I'm happy that we have booked the restaurant at least - but we haven't chosen the dishes yet. I feel a little bit as if time was running and I only get half of the things done. But I work very long these days and I'm often too tired to look for inspiration or it's often too late to have a look at the rings simply because all the shops close at 20:00 here in Munich. But in the end it all will be fine, I'm sure and the most important thing for me is to say "I do", isn't it? :)

Homesick

I'm looking for wedding locations in Sweden at the moment and I can't help the feeling of getting homesick. It's been since Christmas that I haven't been there so it's almost a half year. I do fell at home here in Germany too, of course, it's where I grew up, but the older I get the more I feel bad when coming back to Germany. I've already thought about it so many times in my life, why it's like that, even here. But there is a simple example: the day before I flew to Sweden I had to get into Munich City Center to get a few things, people where aggressive, stressed, pushed you through the shops with their elbows and I was so happy to be back home. This wasn't the way I had expected a calm and nice Christmas shopping... Then I came to Copenhagen and the moment I landed and went into the city with my friends, people didn't seem to be stressed at all, they stood there with their Christmas beers and just had a really good time and it was the same in Malmoe. It was there that I started to have a real Christmas Peace.

But at least i can celebrate my wedding there :), I found a really nice place which I wanted to show you. It's a roasting house, that also has an apartment which you can lent:

The perfect wedding place in Munich...

... I finally found it! Do you remember my post about the Calm wedding? I was looking for a place outside and now I finally found a restaurant in Munich that has a garden with old apple trees and dandelions growing in the grass. Tim and I went there today, it was so lovely with all the trees blossoming, you see the garden on this picture:

Do you know this feeling when you just feel that this is just the place you dreamt of? Tim likes it very much too, but I guess he's happy when I'm happy. :)

If it should be raining they also have this room inside which reminds me of the of a great hall where all the knights used to sit and eat, which is also cute and I don't know a woman who doesn't want to be a princess (or a damsel :)) on her wedding day...

Wedding invitations part 1

The first thing I did today, when I came home was to write the invitations to our wedding for our relatives. I thought it was a nice idea to hand-write them which was quite a challenge after such a long working day. :) As you can see on the pictures I found some simple invitations that are not too overloaded, I like the simple golden "Hochzeit". Then I used a golden pen to draw 2 rings on each invitation and on each enveloppe.

So this is the first step to marriage... I couldn't stop thinking about the way I thought a marriage would be when I was a child. At that age I thought that I would already be married at the age of 20 and that I would have 2 children at the age that I have now. But I'm happy to marry the man I love, no matter how old I am. :)

Nyborg - Wedding Invitation

I just got my first wedding invitation for this year from my best friend in Copenhagen, she will have her wedding in Nyborg in August. She will celebrate it in the castle of Holckenhavn. I have just found some pictures on the internet, which I would like to show you:

Photo:holckenhavn

It looks really nice, doesn't it? And the best thing about it is that this means I will also be 2 times in Scandinavia this summer... I'm so looking forward to it! I would like to book the flights immediately, but I'll have to wait until tomorrow as I will have to talk to my boss first.

Sorry...

.... I was too tired to write yesterday, I came home from work and just fell asleep. But today I'm feeling good, as my best friend from Copenhagen will come to visit me, they will arrive at 23:00 at our place. I'm so very much looking forward to it, lots of fun and I will go to a bridal wear shop together with her and try some wedding dresses. Isn't that what you have dreamt of since you were a child? For me this is a special day...Unfortunatelly I can't show you the dress before our wedding as Tim is also sometimes reading my blog, but I will after my wedding. But I can show you the flowers I would like to have my favourite ones for my wedding are peonies:

Have a good friday evening!

Calm wedding

One of the things I wish for my wedding is that it will be a calm one. Not to many people, a special place with a lot of white and lights. I found this picture in awedding book and it expresses perfectly what I'm looking for. It's a special place in the middle of a forest or a garden surrounded by trees and a little stream. In the Treebraches you can see drop-shaped glases that are tea- candle holders and in the front some vases with water and swimming candles:

I simply love that picture, but I have a great chance to find something like that in Sweden :).

Have a good evening!

Pompoms for my wedding -DIY

I'm currently looking for decoration for my wedding and I really like these pompoms, which I've seen on Martha Stewart's website:

Photo: marthastewart
and also as decoration on the table for the serviettes:

I think that it's easy to make these myself, but for my wedding I will need help from my family to make all these pom poms :)

Klitterbyn

One of my beloved memories of my childhood is the vacation in Klitterbyn in Sweden. This is a little village made of wooden houses for rent which is very close to the sea. When we went to Sweden during summer time it was always also 2 weeks that we spent there.

Photo: klitterbyn
My grandma had always been there a few days before we came to Sweden and had cleaned everything and made köttbullar. On the way to the beach there were wild strawberries and raspberries growing on each side of the way, which my grandma and I picked.

As we are going to get married in Sweden too, I would like to spend some time there, even if I know that it's never going to be the same again...

Thoughts about my wedding - Invitations

I'm going to marry Tim this year. It's a great feeling after having been together for almost 8 years now and having lived together 5 years in our apartment. It's about time to start being our own family. We've decided to have the civil marriage here in Germany and to celebrate it with our relatives and to have the ecclesiastical marriage in Sweden one year later and to celebrate it together with our friends and my Swedish relatives. I'm currently looking for nice invitation cards, but that's really a challenge. German cards tend to be very very kitschy with a lot of symbols and colours.

I really want these cards to be simple and not overloaded with colors and graphics. But that's really not easy. I've found some cards that are ok, but I'm still not satisfied...
