Just a quick snapshot from my beautiful hydrangeas .... I was so happy to get these yesterday. They truly are my favorite flowers... :)
Have a lovely summer day!

Standard White Bathroom Makeover
We have one of these standard white bathrooms and it is not only difficult to keep the floor white ;), it is also really difficult to give it a cozy feeling as it always look like a hospital and our bathroom also doesn't have a window so we need to work with a lot of light from lamps. I decided to give it a more luxurious feeling by using mostly black and white patterns. The curtain is from H&M Home as well as the little carpet and of course I also need a hydrangea in the bathroom :) - but without a window it has to be one that doesn't need light. It is an artificial one - but a very good copy.

Our study
Most rooms are a mix of Tim's style and my style but the study is mostly used by Tim as he often works from home and therefore there are maybe less feminin things in this room. Only the pineapple was allowed to stay :) and I still wanted to show you...

Flowers from Isar
On friday after work the sun was finally shining a little bit and I took my bicycle and rode down to the Isar river in Munich and came across these flowers on the way. I really was a flashback. These are the flowers that my grandma and I always got for her in Sweden. She always preferred the flower that are growing wildly rather than flowers that you can buy. I am happy I found these!

Exotic fruit trend- pineapples
Currently there is palm trees and pineapples in every interior shop, in every interior magazine. It is a new trend to have exotic fruits and plants as decoration objects. I also couldn't quite resist, but as it doesn't fit to the rest of my Scandinavian apartment, I only chose a small pineapple from H&M Home:

Hall update
I spent a lot of time to update our hall. first I painted one wall in grey and the rest in white to give it a fresh look. The new mirror is from Ikea and of course also here a geometric pattern lantern :)
Behind the door there is tiny space which I've used until the very last centimeter but I am really happy about the result. The 2 pictures you see are also from the New York artist:

Geometric pattern fruit bowl
You've seen quite recently that I added a lot of copper and geometric patterns. Well of course also to our living room. I got a fruit bowl for Christmas from my Dad which I really like and would like to show you. Additionally it looks nice to see the different colors of the fruits . :)

Book shelf
Instead of putting books next to each other the "normal" way, it also looks good to have a few highlight books that you like very much and exhibit these by putting these on the shelf the way I did in the picture below. I also added a drawing from New York which I bought there from a street artist selling these and of course my favorite flowers: hydrangeas. You can also add frames with sentences in a nice font that you like or numbers. For me it was important that it is not only fonts but also pictures and as the shelf is black, black and white in my opinion suited best.

Roses
My sister's boyfriend works with flowers and this is why I am really lucky to get fresh and nice flowers for my home every week. The roses I got this week are so pretty and special that I wanted to show you these too. The soft rose color is really a spring color. I wish I had a garden where I could plant these rather than having home in a vase. Maybe I'll have a secret garden one day :)

Facelifts for Home
The trend with geometric patterns definitely caught me :). I really like the copper bowl from Bloomingville and added a copper frame with the alphabet to match it. Together with my ballet picture it makes a perfect match for me:
I also bought a new lamp in white, it is good that it is white as it quite big otherwise it would take over the entire room to much.

Prepare for spring
I promised you to show some updates about my home and what I've changed during my long absence. I always wanted to become an interior designer but never really dared to choose this path in life as there are so many talented people out there. I think this is why I keep changing a lot of things in our apartment. I started to prepare our home for spring quite early this year in February as I really wanted to get some new colors and light after the long winter. For our bedroom I've chosen copper together with white and grey and a blueish moss green for the pillow to add some more color.

Raindrops falling on my roof...
Just a little picture from home from this evening. I like the rain in spring and to be inside and have candles. We live in an apartment with sloping ceilings and you can hear the rain dropping on the roof. I like this sound as it has a very calming effect.
Have a lovely evening! Isabell ♥

Spring time
One of the things I like the most in spring is coming back home and walking through our backyard with all the trees that blossom and they have this very sweet scent. No matter how hard the day was I feel relief when entering it. I'm really happy that I have this little secret oasis in the center of Munich right in front of my window:

Some pictures from our kitchen
I can't describe how much I love the scent of hyacinths. For me this is a typical smell of Christmas, together with cinnamon and the scent of the fir needles. The old tin you see in the picture is from my grandma from Sweden and is filled with the Christmas cookies I baked.
I also like Amaryllis very much, I have them every year:
One of my newest Christmas decoration is a heart shaped light chain, which is very cosy too and oboe the oven.
And as every year of course a mistle toe:

Inspiration for my bathroom
We have one of these standard bathrooms: white, tiny and no window. For me a bathroom should be cozy which is very difficult if you have one like ours. My dream would be a room like this with large windows and grey/brownish colors:
But I can't change the color and the size of the tiles. I might need to work with more white and silver to make it look bigger...
And to increase coziness, I've ordered a bathroom light similar to this one with fewer light spots :
I hope to get it this week and to show you some before and after pictures soon..

At Home
Today I have a day off and I'm currently enjoying a late breakfast with some magazines at home. I've already bought a couple of Christmas special magazines. I'm one of the biggest Christmas fans in the world. As soon as it starts to get darker outside and the weather is turning from sunny days into cold storms and finally winter and snow, this is my favorite season of the year. BUT after Christmas I'm fine with having Spring again immediately :)
Normally I like red, green and gold as they are the traditional Christmas colors but I might decorate the entrance in white and silver this year as this is very nice too.
Have a nice day !

New furniture
We've already lived 6 years in this apartment, but still some rooms still seem to be unfinished and needed new furniture. I've bought a couple of new things this summer to finally have some rooms ready, I'll show you bit by bit. For the bedroom I've added a small desk with a chair and finally long curtains in grey and the rest of course wood and white, my favorites which you can see in the entire flat. :) Before that I had a black desk back from the time when I still was a student and one of these typical office chairs. I'm happy with the result:

Tidy up!
After this long winter and darkness, we had a real spring day here in Munich today. The sun was shining and Tim and I went for a long walk. I've worked from morning till evening this week and when I left in the morning it was still dark and when I left the office it was already dark again. So you can imagine how good it was to feel the sun today. When I came back I suddenly felt I need to tidy up the apartment (I blame it on the sudden energy from the sun ;) ). But what I recognized is that our bed linen always looks so wrinkled, no matter how hard I try to make it look good. I've decided to buy a bedspread which will make that the bed will always look perfect with just a little effort :).
Looking forward to showing you the pictures!

Bye, bye Christmas
Today I've put away all the Christmas decoration. It's always a sad day for me and every year I ask myself what will happen during that year until I open the boxes again. At the same time it also feels good to do a pre-spring-cleaning and to tidy up. After I've put away all the decoration, it still has to be cozy and a lot of candles, and I need softer colors live lavender, rose, gray and white.

Christmas Tree 2013
Sorry that I haven't blogged for a while but I really needed a few days off from everything as my old company really let me work until the very last minute and even longer. I was so tired the last days and I felt that I needed time for myself, just reading a book and even time for such a simple thing like cleaning the apartment for Christmas. Because we have chosen our Christmas tree for 2013! :) I don't know why but as soon as the tree arrives, Christmas arrives too, don't you also think so? Tim and I have chosen a quite big one this year and I just wanted to show you a quick picture which I took with my mobil to show you:
So I'm fully into decoration at the moment and I'll show you as soon as it is ready!
Kram,
Isabell
I've also put the golden snowflakes on the window:
And the special guest for every Christmas and Tim's favorite ( even though he's not a Christmas fan like I am), the little Tomte from 1912 from Sweden:
