Update from last year - Our trip to Berlin

When I'm in Sweden on the way back I try to visit Berlin as well. Which is wonderful during summer. Just take a bike and ride on a bike through the city. You will see amazing things and shops and cafes!

This was the backyard from our hotel in Berlin Mitte:

Back from a looooong holiday

Hi there... do you still remember me? :)

I know I really haven't written a lot the last year. I am a person who wants do do everything and do everything at once at the same time - and then sometimes even things that I like like writing this blog can be too much. With all the roles you have to fulfill in life- being a partner, a sister, a daughter, a friend, a boss ...
But no complaining anymore. I need to find time. Find time for myself and this blog. So what happened while I was away? In the upcoming posts I'm going to show you.

Let's start in May/June last year. This is a picture I took from a church in Landsberg am Lech, where I went together with an American colleague visiting Munich. I love these old church windows and the light shining through these.

Bees wax candles

One of the typical things you can find in Germany during winter and the advent season is bees wax candles. They really smell like honey and when I was a child one of my teachers in elementary school was a beekeeper. On the first of december she had arranged a fir branch, a straw star and a bees wax candle on each table for every child. I can still remember that moment when I entered the class room and as it was winter it was still quite dark outside and she had lit all the candles, transforming the entire class room in a sea of warm lights and the air had this special honey scent. This memory came to me today when I stood in the grocery shop looking for something completely different and I saw these candles after a very long time.

Picture: bienenschwarm
The result: I bought a package of bees wax tea candles, if you ever get a chance to buy these, try it, I'm sure you will like it as much as I do!

Absinth Bar Berlin

We've arrived in Berlin and I've just seen a very stylish Absinth Bar which reminds me of Upstairs Downstairs. Unfortunately you're not allowed to take pictures of it but I found one on the internet:

It looks really like in the twenties and even better than on this picture. Berlin is such an incredible mix of different styles and you can explore new things everyday. We will go to the Transit restaurant now.
More pictures are to follow ;)

Christkindlmarkt Nürnberg - Christmas market Nuremberg

Do you remember my post about my sister's birthday ? My present for her was that we're going to Nuremberg to the Christmas market and this is where we're going today! I've taken a day off on monday to be able to show her the city as well. So we're taking the train and checking in at the hotel and going straight into the city to have a Glühwein (hot spiced wine) and Nuremberger sausages. I like these wooden huts they have where they sell Christmas ornaments, gingerbreads and many other things.

Christkindlesmarkt
If you're in Germany around Christmas time and you like Christmas, this is an absolute must! Will show you the pictures when we're back again.

So have a nice sunday afternoon!

Berlin, Berlin, Berlin

We just booked our trip to Berlin for the Berlin fashion week in January. I love Berlin! I'm so happy right now! And I'm going to eat in Transit restaurant every day that I'm in Berlin. They have a sort of a tapas style menu, where you can order small bowls with different Thai dishes and they just taste fantastic. So whenever I'm in Berlin I have to go to that place:

But I also look forward to see the new fashion styles and the city itself. It's a special city and I'm going to show you when I'm there.
