You've seen quite recently that I added a lot of copper and geometric patterns. Well of course also to our living room. I got a fruit bowl for Christmas from my Dad which I really like and would like to show you. Additionally it looks nice to see the different colors of the fruits . :)

Santa Lucia Restaurant Zurich
The name "Santa Lucia" caught my attention when we passed the restaurant. And inside at the other end of the entrance they really made a nice and cosy area. I wanted to share this picture with you and wish you a lovely evening. I'm having a glass of wine in it right now and then going to sleep soon as we will leave tomorrow morning quite early.

Book stores
Zurich has an area which has a lot of art and book stores. I especially like the antique books for kids, the old drawings for these stories are so much better than the drawing nowadays. The ones from nowadays are often so exaggerated and too colorful for my taste, so whenever I have a change I buy one of the old books and keep them in our attic in order to have them when I have kids myself and read them for them. I know I sometimes am really traditional but I want my kids to grow up with books.

Zurich Switzerland
Tim and I are currently in Zurich for the weekend. It is the first time that I am in Zurich and it is a beautiful city. You can feel that it is really old and it has these cosy narrow streets that I like so much. And then of course the river that runs through the city and the cafes that surrounds it.
Zurich also has a lot of green areas too and benches to sit down with a cup of coffee and just relax.
I like these old buildings so much, it puts you into a different time immediately and makes you think about all the history that these buildings have seen.

Book shelf
Instead of putting books next to each other the "normal" way, it also looks good to have a few highlight books that you like very much and exhibit these by putting these on the shelf the way I did in the picture below. I also added a drawing from New York which I bought there from a street artist selling these and of course my favorite flowers: hydrangeas. You can also add frames with sentences in a nice font that you like or numbers. For me it was important that it is not only fonts but also pictures and as the shelf is black, black and white in my opinion suited best.

Davies - OI all in one milk
I am one of these persons that doesn't have the shiny and beautiful hair like in the commercials. Mine is thin, dry and needs a lot of work to look good and as soon as 1 raindrop falls on it it gets curly and I look as if the hairdryer would have been exploded while drying them. Most hair products don't work but so far the best for me is the OI series from davines. I like the scent of it and my hair feels a little bit better than with other products. But I think the product that will help my hair in all situations still needs to be invented. :)

Dallmayr Munich
I am on a lot of customer visits currently and we always bring them a little gift and my favorite place to go for these gifts is Dallmayr. An also if you are visiting Munich it is one of the must sees and must buys :) . It is a deli food store that was founded 1700 and has its own branded high quality food and used to be one of the purveyors to the court of the Bavarian king back in 1900. It is very close to Marienplatz in Dienerstrasse.
Picture: Dallmayr |
The furniture is still very old fashioned and I really like that. Even though the food is expensive, I like the atmosphere and the many different things you can buy and to be sure to buy good quality.

If you are in Munich it really is a nice place to go ( but please not on a saturday as it will be crowded!)
Have a lovely day!

Art Alejandro Giraldo
When Tim and I were in France we passed by the StepArt Shop in Hossegor and I found this printed art and couldn't walk past it without buying it. I at first didn't know where to put it to be honest with you but I was sure to find a very good place on the wall, which I did. The artist is Alejandro Giraldo from Colombia.

Blueberries - Sweden
I've booked my flight to Sweden! I can't wait to go there. It really is my favorite vacation of the year as it is my home. At our summer house time goes a little bit slower and I look forward to do a simple thing like picking blueberries and of course eating them with whipped cream :) Only a few weeks left!

Anna's pepparkakor- Anna's gingerbread
My sister came home from her trip in Stockholm and brought me gingerbread in this beautiful cookie jar, with some of the traditional Dalarna patterns. It is a real summer cookie jar for me and I look forward to eating these with a glas of fresh buttermilk.... this is what I always did together with my grandma in Sweden. It was a little snack before we went outside to pick berries and cycling to the sea.

Roses
My sister's boyfriend works with flowers and this is why I am really lucky to get fresh and nice flowers for my home every week. The roses I got this week are so pretty and special that I wanted to show you these too. The soft rose color is really a spring color. I wish I had a garden where I could plant these rather than having home in a vase. Maybe I'll have a secret garden one day :)

Facelifts for Home
The trend with geometric patterns definitely caught me :). I really like the copper bowl from Bloomingville and added a copper frame with the alphabet to match it. Together with my ballet picture it makes a perfect match for me:
I also bought a new lamp in white, it is good that it is white as it quite big otherwise it would take over the entire room to much.

Little woman
Well I am also not one of the tallest women but this is not why I chose this book :) . When I was in Milano at the train station I still had some time left before the train left and I was in a book store ( I LOVE bookstores ) where they also sold English books. I immediately was attracted by the nice artwork and must admit that I only found out later that it is a well-known book. The novel Little Women written by Louisa May Alcott follows the lives of four sisters—Meg, Jo, Beth, and Amy March—detailing their passage from childhood to womanhood, and is loosely based on the author and her three sisters. I look forward to taking it to Sweden in June and reading it!

Prepare for spring
I promised you to show some updates about my home and what I've changed during my long absence. I always wanted to become an interior designer but never really dared to choose this path in life as there are so many talented people out there. I think this is why I keep changing a lot of things in our apartment. I started to prepare our home for spring quite early this year in February as I really wanted to get some new colors and light after the long winter. For our bedroom I've chosen copper together with white and grey and a blueish moss green for the pillow to add some more color.

The secret garden
When I was a child I liked the book The Secret Garden from Frances Hodgson Burnett. It is a sad story but at the same time I think everybody that reads it also wishes to have a secret garden like in the book. When I came across this picture today I immediately thought about the book, this picture really comes close to the picture I have of that secret garden.

Strawberry time
May is one of the best month of the year. The elderflowers and the lilac are blossoming and when I pass these on my bike I smell the sweet scent. It is like a perfume that fills the air in a very light way. It is also the month where you can buy these sweet strawberries, my absolute favorite fruit.

H&M Home Lanterns
You know that I like candles and therefore I also need these during summer of course too :). I found these very nice lanterns from H&M Home. As I don't have a balcony, they might end up on my sister's balcony soon :)

L:A Bruket
One if the things I found in Hossegor which I really liked where the products from the Swedish brand L:A Bruket. They are using natural ingredients and I like the packaging. I currently change our bathroom into the colors black and white ( I will show you soon :)) and these would be a perfect match. The price was the only thing that kept me from buying it immediately but as the ingredients are natural and organic I will buy one. I found a shop in Munich that has it too :)

San Sebastian
We are on our way back to the airport to fly back to Munich but we've stopped in San Sebastian on the way. What a beautiful city! We are currently sitting at the bay watching the sea and having an ice-cream. We already did a little city tour but will continue the tour after our ice-cream. I don't know how you feel but I don't like walking and eating at the same time. I always manage to spill food all over myself if I walk and eat because I concentrate on everything there is to see and there is always sooooo much to see in cities :)

Relaxing days off
We have rented a little apartment with a patio that is very close to the beach. It is great to just walk to the beach everyday in the morning and see the sunset everyday, not to think about work or anything just enjoying life! These are some pictures from the garden and the patio:
I really am a flower person, I can feel so much joy to see these daisies which remind me of my childhood where I used to braid floral wreath from these for my hair. You see I really am relaxing here :)

Some holiday pictures from Hossegor
Hossegor is a tiny little cute town 1 hour away from Biarritz. The city centre has only a few shops ( mainly surf brands like Billabong, Ripcurl) and a few interior design shops ( of course I visited all of them :)) but there is also an outlet centre with a couple of really stylish shops like the All Good store that has a little cafe:
Have a lovely day !

Breakfast at the beach - Hossegor
Tim and I flew to France yesterday for a couple of days. I'm currently in Hossegor and having breakfast at the beach with a café au lait and a croissant. There are a couple of surfers in the water and poor Tim had an accident with the Skateboard 2 weeks ago so he cannot surf himself and has to watch. But when do you have the possibility to have breakfast in the sand at the beach with this view if you normally live in Munich? The sun is shining and I breath the fresh air of the sea... I'm really happy! Isabell

Impressions from Spring
Everything is blossoming and summer is finally about to come, these are a few pictures from my parents' garden that I would like to share with you. This is the only thing that I am missing in our apartment right now, to have a garden or even a balcony would be nice. Therefore it is always nice to come to my parents and be in their garden and help them with their gardening.

Raindrops falling on my roof...
Just a little picture from home from this evening. I like the rain in spring and to be inside and have candles. We live in an apartment with sloping ceilings and you can hear the rain dropping on the roof. I like this sound as it has a very calming effect.
Have a lovely evening! Isabell ♥

Swedish grace winter
I've truly made a winter sleep this year... you can tell by me not even having realized the Rörstrand had a winter edition of my favorite china " Swedish grace" named "Swedish grace winter ". I really like the pattern and will try to get the little cups when I'm in Sweden in June. I look so much forward to (hopefully) buying these!
And while I'm still dreaming of a white Christmas... it is finally May! My second favorite month together with December :)

France - Paris 2016
In the beginning of the year we visited Paris. One of the advantages of living in Munich is that it is central Europe and it is easy to get to other countries, you don't need to travel far to experience a complete different culture and even a weekend feels like a longer holiday. Paris is very charming it sometimes feels like a little country itself. It is a very cosy city- sitting in one of the cafés drinking a café au lait and watching the stylish people and the busy Parisian life.
