Christmas markets in Munich - Weihnachtsmärkte

There is one thing that I look especially forward to, it's the Christmas markets here in Germany. It's so cozy to have a "Gluehwein" a hot spiced wine while the snow is falling and to eat a German Bratwurst. And all the shimmering lights from the little huts. Only 3 more weeks to wait....

This is an overview for the best Christmas markets in Munich:

1. Mittelaltermarkt (26 November until 23 December 2012) which is at Wittelsbacherplatz (close to Odeonsplatz) and is a medieval market. If you like to buy medieval artisanry or drink mead.
2. Bogenhausener Weihnachtszauberwald ( 24 November until 24 December 2012) , the adress is Am Rosenkavalierplatz 1. They have over 100 fir trees that are decorated with lights, very nice!
3. Weihnachtsdorf im Kaiserhof der Residenz ( 24 November until 22 December 2012) at Max-Joseph-Platz 3, nice but can be very crowded as it is surrounded by the walls of the Munich Residenz.
4. Weihnachtsmarkt am Chinesischen Turm (1 December until 23 December 2012) , the adress is Englischer Garten 3, it's in the center of English Garden. Very nice! It's the one you see on the picture.
